Which documents are needed to rent a vehicle?

A valid national driving licence (an international permit is not required for tourist stays), a passport and a credit card in the driver's name for the deposit.

Is insurance mandatory in Mexico?

Yes, Mexican third-party liability is mandatory and included in our rates. We also offer full coverage with a reduced excess, to be confirmed before the keys are handed over.

Where do we pick up the vehicle?

At Cancún airport, at your hotel or villa, in Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras or Tulum. Delivery and collection are coordinated by your concierge to fit your schedule.

Which type of vehicle suits the Riviera Maya?

A compact car is enough for coastal Highway 307. An SUV is recommended for families, longer drives to Chichén Itzá and the tracks leading to cenotes or some jungle villas.

Can we rent with a chauffeur?

Yes. Our SUVs and vans are available with a bilingual private chauffeur by the day (typically 8 to 10 hours) or for your entire stay, fuel and tolls included.

Is it easy to drive in the Riviera Maya?

Yes: roads are in good condition, signage is clear and speed limits are enforced. Watch out for speed bumps (topes), night driving on unlit roads and police checkpoints, where licence and insurance are requested.
